In 2005 we purchased Jim from Terrance Storr.  With the help of Deanna Johnson, who also purchasing a Gypsy mare, 8 months later, Jaunty Star’s journey commenced in Wales on February 11^th 2006.  Jim traveled across the ferry to the Netherlands where he spent the night, then into Germany and down to Luxembourg.

Jim and Deanna’s mares flight takes them into the United States and they must travel 10 hours and land in Seattle. Then they depart and fly for another 4 hours before finally arriving in Calgary, Alberta. Which is where Deanna and I arrive at 10:30 PM to meet them.

In 2007, Jim was now 3 years old and ready for inspections. The judges came from Ireland to do a cross Canada tour. Jim passed with high marks in temperament and athleticism.

2008 Jim and Rebecca Lee won the Alberta Championships, Entry devition.

2009 Jim and Rebecca lee were Reserve High Point Champ for AHT. They also got Honorable mentions with the IDHS NA. In the fall they up graded to Training level at the NWCG in Washington.

Feb 2010

We are also very excited for our new addition to the herd. Angel a registered JC palomino TB mare, will be arriving May/June.

March 22, 2010 Hermione had a baby boy.

Star made it to her new home in Ontario safe and sound were she is the new addition to True Colors Farm breeding program. I am looking forward to see there future foal out of Star from there fabulous stallion Guaranteed Gold.

June

The first event of the season at Alhambra was canceled due to snow the morning of Dressage. Jim and Becky were suppose to do pre training there and then finish the season off in training but the cancellation of Alhambra ment Jim and Becky went straight into training for this season. The first event was Beaumont. Becky had  a really busy weekend, riding 3 horses (2 in training) and no grooms. Jim and Becky did pretty good considering. They had 1 rail in stadium and 2 stop on cross country, finishing off in 7th over all. Next Cochrane.

Becky and Jim did a great job in Cochrane finishing off in 4th place.

I took DKH Bold Alliance to Beaumont, this was Bo’s first event. We did the trot a trail. Bo was spooky but did really well considering it was really windy. We finished of in 2nd place, next will be Rocky Mountain House in July, were we will be upgrading to pre entry.

July 9-11 was Thompson HT. Another supper job by Becky and Jim, finishing off in 3rd. I took Bo and Powder. Dressage day was hot. I also was not feeling well. Bo not wanting to leave powder was tense. Even though it was not a great day, and being his second show, Bo had a pretty good dressage test. By the time I rode powder, I could hardly stay on, I had no strength what so ever. We finished our test the best we could. Cross country was much better. It was raining (much cooler) and I was feeling much better. Bo was awesome. We had one stop and number 5. It was quite big for pre entry and on the landing, it was quite a sharp turn. Bo looked at 6 and 7 but went over. He was very brave. We had a lot of time penalties as I wanted Bo to have fun so we took it slow with trot approach to all of the fences with cantering between.  Powder was really good too. We got eliminated on cross country but over all, she did well for not ever seeing a cross country course.  We had a stop at 5, 6 and then 3 stops at 7. Powder was a good girl and when she stopped it was not dirty or mean, didn’t try and run out, she just slowed to a stop. Stadium, I was super proud of Bo. He did really well. Tons of spooky stuff and he didn’t look. We had 2 rails that were my fault as I didn’t release soon enough. Powder didn’t do stadium.

July

Jim and Becky went to Montana to compete at Rebecca Farms Event. They competed at training. They finished off in 6th place after dressage. The scores were very close. On cross country, Jim had on stop at the carrot but over all they did very well. Unfortunately having that one stop moved them to 13th place. They had a clean stadium but it was not enough to move them up so they stayed in 13th place out of 25.

August

This was Alhambra. Jim and Becky did a supper job, finishing off dressage in 2nd place. They had a clean cross country and stadium staying in 2nd place.

I took Bo. Bo was great. I was tiered and was quite tense for dressage. Bo would have done allot better if I could have remembered how to ride. Cross country was much better. Bo was brave and had a lot of fun. I let Bo pick his pace and I just kept him moving forward. I was not concerned about time, just with making a good experience for Bo. We moved up 8 placings into 10th. We had a clean go other then time penalties for going to slow. Stadium was good to. We had one stop at a really spooky fence but after a look, and a second go, Bo went over with no problems. We had one or two rails, not sure, which moved us to finish off in 11th.

September

Jim come home for 6 week vacation while Becky went to compete in the US, Good luck Becky. I had a mare have a small bought of colic so I sent Bo with Amy to the last Alhambra event. Amy and Bo is very well, finishing off in 6th place.

January 26th, 2011

Jim and Becky headed down to the warm weather of Florida to compete until the end of April. Jim will be competing in 5 events. We will be expecting 4 foals in March.

February 2011

Jim and Becky competed at the training level  at Ocala and Rocking Horse. At both events they finished off in 6th place. The will be up grading to prelim at the next Rocking Horse event.

April 2011

Well, Jim and Becky are all finished down south and will be returning home the second week of May. They went prelim at Rocking Horse W3 but on cross country day, half way through the course, Jim had a green moment and spooked, which resulted in a silly fall, so they were not able to complete.  We dropped Jim back down to Training at Poplar Place just to make sure it didn’t back him off, they finished off in 7th. We upgraded Jim back up to prelim at Ocala were they finished off in 17th. They did prelim at Rocking Horse Spring and finished off in 9th. Jim and Becky headed up to Fair Hill, there they competed in there first CIC 1*. They finished off in 4th place, how exciting. Becky will be competing her other horse in one more event and will be returning home were Jim will come home for a rest and see his girlfriends for a few weeks before going back to work for the Alberta Show season. I have pictures of Jim and Becky competing in Florida and will post them once I get them.

Daisy Daisy had a chestnut filly with a small star. We are thinking of calling her Driving Mrs Daisy. Bad Girl had a bay filly that will go grey, I think. We are going to call her Easter Sunday. Pritty Pick had a chestnut filly with a big star. We are going to call her, Kiss Me Irish Kate. I will also be posting pictures of them soon. Angle will foal later on.

 Aug 2011

After having some time off, Becky and Jim went to Cochrane were they finished off in 5th at the pre lim level. In July they went to Montana to compete at the Rebecca Farms event. They competed at the CIC1* level and finished off in 6th. Jim has one more Alberta event this season then hopefully it will be another trip to Florida in January.

Sept 2011

Angle had a baby boy Aug 15th. Bo will be heading to BC in October to his new home. Jim and Becky went to Alhambra were they competed at the prelim level and finished off in 2nd place, way to go.

2012 

January

Belle and Missy will be coming home from Amy’s place the first week of Jan. I will continue with there training so both Belle and Missy are ready to do a few clinics and events this season. Jonny and Jewel will be going to Amy’s to be started under saddle and then given the summer off. Jim and Becky will be returning back to Florida the first part of Feb were they will continue competing at the pre lim level but will compete in a few CCI* this year.

Feb 2012

Well Jim and Becky are in South Carolina now. They completed there first event of the season Feb 8th. We entered Jim in training level just so he could get back into the swing of things. They did very well scoring a 29.60 in there dressage test. They had one rail in show jumping and had a clean go in cross country finishing off in 1st place. How exiting, great job Jim and becky.
